Cabinets

A networking cabinet is a lockable enclosure that holds switches, patch panels, routers and servers in a standard 19 inch frame, keeping equipment organised, cooled and protected.

U is the standard height unit for rack equipment, equal to 1.75 inches. A 1U device takes one unit of space, and a 12U cabinet holds up to twelve units of equipment.

Network cabinets are usually smaller and shallower, often wall-mounted, for switches and patch panels. Server racks are deeper floor-standing cabinets for full-size servers.

At Cyprus PC, small wall-mounted network cabinets are the most affordable option, while large floor-standing cabinets with glass or perforated doors cost more. Accessories start from €15.

A compact 9U or 12U wall-mounted cabinet is ideal for a home or small office, with enough space for a router, switch, patch panel and a small UPS.
